Meet Daniel and Karolina from Poland.

- ''Hi! May we ask you something? Do you know where is the closest supermarket? We'd like to get some alcohol''

- ''Uhm sure, let me show you the way! But isn't it a bit early for alcohol? It's still midday.. ''

- ''Yeah we know. But we are Polish you see haha!''

That's how we met with Daniel and Karolina, a cute and easygoing couple from Gdansk, a Polish city on the Baltic coast. They drove all the way from Gdansk to the city of Bydgoszcz and then to Warsaw. Afterwards, from the capital city of Poland they flew directly to Athens.

''It's actually my second time in Greece, my first time was around 5 years ago during a school trip. But it's the first time for Daniel! '' Karolina said.

They live together at their own apartment in Poland and they absolutely enjoy travelling. Last year they spent some time in the United States, in North Carolina, where they worked at a souvenir shop, thanks to a student work program. ''It was quite an experience, we really enjoyed our time in the States. We will probably do it again!''

- ''How do you like Greece so far ? ''

- ''We're loving it, the weather is perfect and very summerish. Nothing compared to Poland. And the people are so nice and friendly. The other day we asked a stranger for directions and he used his mobile phone's map and GPS to show us the way. We can't complain! Athens seems a very vibrant city and we'd love to see as much as we can of this place.''

Daniel and Karolina's next stop is Chania, one of the most picturesque Greek cities, located in Crete Island. They will fly from Athens. ''Luckily we found a cheap flight so we will spend another 5-6 days there before flying back to Warsaw. We're really looking forward to seeing Chania too.''

''Have you ever been to Poland? If not, you should definitely come and visit, especially Gdansk so that we can go out for drinks and show you around! ''

Before saying goodbye, we thanked Daniel and Karolina for visiting -and thus helping- Greece in such tough times of political, social and economic ''turbulence''.

Dziękuję i do widzenia!
