According to MasterCard Global Destinations City Index, Athens was placed 46th in the ranking of the top 100 destination cities worldwide for year 2016, with 2.68 million international overnight visitors. For the record, Bangkok was placed 1st with 21.47 million international overnight visitors. Thumbs up for Athens, thumbs up for Greece!
